</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Carol Sue "Susie" Thorne, 68, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Chester, IL, died March 20, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

The daughter of Oscar and Stella (Valleroy) Mehrer, she was born March 12, 1942 in Chester, IL.

On March 28, 1992, she married Daniel Thorne in Chester, IL, and he preceded her in death in 2009.

Carol was a Respiratory Therapy Tech. She was a member of Assumption Parish in St. Louis, MO, and served as an R.C.I.A. sponsor; a member of St. Mary's in Chester, IL; and a member for 16 years of the First Presbyterian Church in Chester where she served as an Elder, Deacon, choir member, Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and was a member of several Bible studies.

Survivors include one son, Gregory Temple of Texas; one daughter, Ronda Sue (Andy) Thiem of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Deloris Kemp of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren-Taryn Rae Temple, Bradley Thomas Mertens, and Rachel Sue Mertens; nieces & nephews-Lou, John and Theresa Baldetti, Gene and Janet Mehrer, Robert, Gary and Sherry Mehrer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers-William Mehrer, Dave Mehrer, and Pete Mehrer.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, March 26, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church in St. Louis, MO with Rev. John Seper officiating. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL with Rev. Gene Wojcik officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to hour of service at the Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.
