Jackie Lee Davison

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jackie Lee Davison, 77, of Tamaroa, passed away at 8:00 a.m., Friday, March 19, 2010 at his residence.

Jackie had worked as an engineer for 46 years for the Illinois Central Railroad. He was the Pastor of the Tamaroa Independent Pentecostal Church. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Tamaroa Masonic Lodge 32nd Degree Mason and was a Past Master of the Tamaroa Lodge. He was a lifemember of the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion. He was a lifemember of the NRA, a Shriner, and was State Chaplin for the State of Illinois V.F.W. He was one of the Co-Founders of the Children's Masonic Home in Murphysboro. Jackie had also been a retired farmer, was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved all his dogs.

He was born June 18, 1932 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the son of Thomas Hayes and Emily Belle (Huntley) Davison.

He married Naomi Mara Ferguson on Dec. 7, 1955 at DeSoto, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, six children - Mara Lee Woodcock and husband George of Du Quoin, Jackie Joe Davison and wife Donna of Du Quoin, Michael Eugene Davison and wife Patricia of Tamaroa, Sharon Knapp and husband Bill of Du Quoin, Tom Davison and wife Debbie of Percy and John Eric Davison and wife Anastasia of Tamaroa, one sister - Dorett Stone and husband Jack of Pinckneyville, seventeen grandchildren - David Woodcock, Nicholas Woodcock, Rachael Davison, Robin Davison, Amber Knapp, Ashley Knapp, Jessica Knapp, Amanda Knapp, Cody Knapp, Damian Knapp, Skylar Knapp, Misty Hemingway, Mandy Farris, Melissa Farris, Brigette Davison, Madison Davison, and Ty Davison, and numerous foster grandchildren, and three great grandchildren - Eli Hemingway, Ella Hemingway, and Jayci Farris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter - Clara Jane Davison, and one brother - Dale Davison.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Tamaroa Independent Pentecostal Church with Rev. Kirk Steele officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.

Masonic services were at 7:00 p.m., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

V.F.W. services were at 6:00 p.m., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion.

Friends may make memorials to the Tamaroa Independent Pentecostal Church or the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
