Girls Prep Track & Field: Lady Indians impress
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The improved depth and numbers expected for the 2010 Du Quoin High School Girls Track and Field team is already paying early dividends.
Tuesday afternoon in a five-team meet at Sparta, the Lady Indians scored 76 points and were second to the host team's 113 points.
Okawville (43), Steeleville (33) and Waterloo Gibault (9) also competed.
"We had just an excellent day to run," Lady Indians assistant coach Shawn File said. "All of the girls competed well. We look forward to a great season."
Kiyanna Dejear (100 meters, 12.89) was the lone first place individual finisher for Du Quoin. The Lady Tribe, however, won the 4x100 and 4x200 relays.
