Wednesday's Prep Baseball: J'City blanks Elverado in Diamond opener

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Brendan Roberts hit a home run and drove in four runs to back a strong pitching performance by Grant Montgomery as the Johnston City baseball team defeated Elverado 11-0 in five innings Wednesday afternoon.

The Indians have now won two straight after starting the season with six straight losses.

Montgomery struck out nine batters in five innings. He was supported by two hits from Nick Dean and Lex Glasco.

Glasco also had two RBI for the Indians.

Elverado had two hits from Brian McClanahan and plays agian Saturday against Flora and Du Quoin at Du Quoin.
