</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[CPT. Todd Anthony Brunkhorst (Ret.), USAF, 29, of Rocklin, CA, formerly of Sparta, IL, died March 28, 2010 at his residence.
The son of Randy and Shelley (Hartman) Brunkhorst on November 16, 1980 in Chester, IL.
On October 23, 2009, he married Maryanna Wienbroeer in Roseville, CA.
Todd was a Pilot in the United States Air Force. He flew 80 missions in the C-130 Hercules and 60 missions in the RQ-4 Global Hawk. He served 4 tours in the Iraq War and retired as a Captain. He was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Sparta, IL and the American Model Aeronautics Society.
Survivors include his wife of Rocklin, CA; father, Randy (Sandy) Brunkhorst of Red Bud, IL; mother, Shelley (Kevin) Nurnberger of Sparta, IL; five siblings-Joshua Brunkhorst and Nicole Brunkhorst, both of Red Bud, IL, Keith Nurnberger of St. Louis, MO, Tim Nurnberger of Rocklin, CA, and Luke Nurnberger of Sparta, IL; in-laws, Ralph & Raye Wienbroeer of Loveland, CO; grandparents-Lois Brunkhorst of Red Bud, IL, Gladys Hartman of Chester, IL, Kaye & Dan Nurnberger of Washington, MO; sister-in-law, Melody (Derek) Huisjen of Rocklin, CA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents-LeRoy Brunkhorst, Gene & Shirley Juelfs, and Donald Hartman; two uncles-Bruce and Kenneth Hartman; and cousin, Beth Guebert.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, IL, with Rev. David Moody officiating. Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery, Steele-ville, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 8, from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. and Friday, April 9, from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. at the funeral home in Red Bud.
Memorials may be given to Keeghan's Cell by Cell Fund or the National Brain Tumor Society.
