Ruth M. Erdmann, 101

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ruth M. Erdmann, 101, died March 23, 2010. She had been a resident of Blu Fountain Manor in Godfrey, IL.

She was born November 27, 1908, in Clareyville, MO to Herman Fredrik and Mary Louise (Bueckmann) Heinbokel.

Ruth grew up on a farm on Kaskaskia Island, MO, and was graduated from Chester High School and Rubicom Business College, St. Louis.

On May 20, 1933, she married Albert G. Erdmann, and they spent almost their entire life in Alton, IL, where Ruth was a 70-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She retired as the bookkeeper for the Alton Board of Education. Ruth played the violin, enjoyed Pinochle, gardening, was an excellent seamstress, artist and a master of hand work . She enjoyed her family and the accomplishments of her children.

Survivors include her son Robert Erdmann (Nancy) of Avon Lake, Ohio; two daughters-Lois Sikorski (Roy) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Carol (Ron) Westbrook of Alton; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parent; and two sisters-Doris Brelig and Hilda Gollon.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Bible Society or Lutheran Hour Ministries.
