SWIC?RBC offers new nursing, science classes this summer
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Don't wait until the fall semester to begin your advanced education! The Southwestern Illinois College Red Bud Campus, 500 W. South Fourth St., is offering new classes to choose from this summer. You can register for all summer courses beginning Monday, May 3.
The economy's demand for nursing and medical assistants has spurred the college to add the following courses:
HRO-105 Nurse Assistant will be offered from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 4-9:50 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Thursday beginning Monday, June 7 through July 29. Learn to perform simple and basic nursing functions under the supervision of a nurse. The course covers anatomy and physiology, patient care, body mechanics, vital signs and special treatments. Students must be 16 years of age or older to enroll.
PHYS-101 General Physical Science will be offered at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday beginning Tuesday, July 6 through Thursday, July 29. Gain a better understanding of our physical environment by learning about astronomy, physics, chemistry and earth science. These topics will be introduced and examined from practical viewpoints.
