Thursday's boys prep track: Du Quoin wins six events at Carbondale

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Junior Karson Hoffman won two individual events while also anchoring a winning relay squad as Du Quoin High School's Boys Track and Field team placed second in the Carbondale triangluar Thursday at Frank Bleyer Field.

The Indians had 70 points, trailing the host Terriers (88). Anna-Jonesboro (28) was a distant third.

Hoffman won the Triple Jump (43'0) and 400 meter dash (51.3) with season's best times. He then joined David Rose, Cayle Diggins and Aaron Smith to win the 4x400 meter relay (3:42.45).

Freshman standout Deeja Cole (5'10) was first in the high jump with Brock Morgenstern (46'3) taking shot put honors.

Diggins notched the other Du Quoin win, clearing 11'3 to win the pole vault after winning on misses over freshman teammate Haeden Sweetin.

Second place finishers for the Indians included the 4x100 meter relay (45.53), Chaz Bland in the 110 high hurdles (16.98) and 300 meter low hurdles (44.03); the 4x200 relay (1:38.44); Smith (Long Jump, 20'9; Morgenstern (Discus, 118'1) and Sweetin (11'3, Pole Vault).

The next scheduled event for the Indians is next Wednesday's Red Devil Relays at Sesser-Valier.
