Accident
On 4-09-10 Larenz Ruebke, 76, of Percy, IL, was involved in an accident at N. Sparta St. & Mary's River Bridge, Steeleville. He was traveling south on North Sparta St. when his vehicle got onto the shoulder, went across the southbound lane, ran off into a field, and came to rest. Ruebke stated he was avoiding a deer. He was taken to Chester Memorial Hospital by MedStar Ambulance.

Accident
On 4-09-10 David C. Gummere, 41, of Pinckneyville, IL, and Heather L. Harsy, 31, of DuQuoin, IL, were involved in an accident. Gummere was turning onto Greens Market Rd. from St. Rt. 13/127 and cut the turn too short, hitting Harsy. Harsy was stopped at the posted sign on Greens Market waiting to turn onto St. Rt. 13/137. There were no injuries. Gummere was ticketed for Careless Driving.
