Tuesday's prep softball: Lady Panthers explode against Chester
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Community High School's girls softball team brought its offensive "A" game to the table Tuesday afternoon at Greg Hale.
For visiting Chester, it turned a sunny and warm day into a brutally cold affair.
Ripping 17 hits and exploding for a dozen first inning runs, PCHS (15-1) won its fourth River-to-River Conference game in five Mississippi Division outings.
Thursday, PCHS welcomes defending sectional champion Anna-Jonesboro to town. Game time is 4:30.
Maddy Keith, Mo Ramsey and Taylor Cicardi combined for 10 hits in 10 plate appearances against Chester, knocking in 10 runs.
Ramsey had three hits and six RBI with with Cicardi rapping three hits and belting a three-run homer.
Keith was 4-for-4 with a triple.
PCHS also had two hits from Emily Miller in the lopsided affair.
"We just came out and took care of business offensively," said PCHS coach Greg Hale.
Emily Chapman (6-0) worked all five innings in the pitching circle,.allowing only four hits.
