Marian E. Svanda
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Marian E. Svanda, age 88, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 11:15 p.m. in Pinckneyville Health Care Center, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Marian was born on March 7, 1922 in Percy, Ill., a daughter to Ernest and Ruth (Steele) Deppe. On Feb. 6, 1939 she married Kenneth Lindner in Pinckneyville, Ill. and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1961. In August of 1969, she married John Svanda in Percy, Ill. Upon her retirement from World Color Press, she and John enjoyed traveling before his death on Dec. 3, 1989. In recent years, some of her great joys were being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Another special joy was her annual "Cousins Reunion." Marian was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., the Rebeccah's and the Royal Neighbors. She also enjoyed ceramics, quilting, needle point and especially loved reading her bible.
Marian is survived by three sons, Glen (Shirley) Lindner of Cutler, Ill., Lee (Lina Rae) Lindner of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Terry (Jill) Lindner of Boca Raton, Fla.; three daughters, Janet Miller, Karen (John) Peradotto all of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Linda Hepp of Steeleville, Ill.; two sisters, Blanche Rees of Steeleville, Ill. and Jewell Middendorf of Percy, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Faye Deppe and Flo Deppe both of Percy, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a son-in-law, Tommy Miller, three brothers, Roy, Wayne and Dale Deppe, a sister, Ruby Bierman; a great-grandson, Tyler Smith and a grandson-in-law, Rick Iffert.
Funeral services were be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment was in Cottom Cemetery, Denmark, Ill.
Friends called at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. was in charge of the arrangements.
