Michael J. Schubert

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Michael J. "Mike" Schubert, 65, of Tamaroa, passed away at 12:12 a.m.., Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his residence.

Mike had worked as a security guard for seven years at the Baldwin Power Plant and was a farmer. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa and a member of the church men&#39;s club.

He was born June 4, 1944 at Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Joseph James and Theresa E. (Stiens) Schubert.

He married Helen L. Depue on May 23, 1970 at Tamaroa, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, four children - Theresa L. Schubert of Belleville, Joseph J. Schubert and wife Jean of Tamaroa, Mary Ellen Smith and husband Lonnie of Dowell, and Catherine A. Johnson and husband Kurt of Du Quoin; one brother - Andy Schubert and wife Ann of Tamaroa; one sister - Mary Agnes Springer and husband Buddy of Cleveland, Tex.; eight grandchildren - Joshua Henson, Devon Schubert, Landon Schubert, Braydon Schubert, Michaela Smith, Zeb Smith, Brieanne Johnson and Kameron Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister - Louise Schubert.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa with Fr. Jim VanOss officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Rosary was prayed at 7:00 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
