The Lady Panthers edged rival Nashville 4-2 on Greg Hale Field, improving to 6-1 in River-to-River Conference play in the Mississippi Division.
PCHS (21-1) plays at Du Quoin Tuesday.
"I can't ask that much out of a freshman," PCHS coach Greg Hale said of Stanton. "She's doing a good job for us. She probably doesn't know what pressure is yet."
Stanton's hit broke a 2-2 tie by sending Taylor Cicardi and Sara Malanowski racing across the plate.
Malanowski started the game in the pitching circle before winner Emily Chapman entered to throw the fifth and sixth innings.
Malanowski returned for the seventh, grabbing the save.
Stanton ended the day 3-for-3 with Cicardi adding two doubles and Malanowski going 2-for-3.
Nashville's records are 7-7 and 3-4.
