Thursday's boys prep track: Hosts win "Little Classic" frosh-soph title

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Winning nine of 14 events-and tying for first place in another-Du Quoin High Scholl&#39;s boys track and field team kept a firm grip on lits Frosh-Soph "Little Classic" Wednesday at Van Metre Field.

The young Indians out-pointed Pinckneyville 137-119 in the relay affair, which included two individual events.

Friday, both schools send their varsity and girls squads to the Sparta Invitational.

LATE S-V RELAYS RESULTS

Last Wednesday, Du Quoin&#39;s varsity team won the Sesser-Valier Relays. The invitational title was the first for the Tribe under new coach Derek Beard.

PANTHER BOYS TRACK

Pinckneyville was eighth in Nashville&#39;s Hornet Invitational Tuesday, scoring 28 points.

The lone first place finishes came from the 4x400 frosh relay (3:58.25). and Taylor Pyatt (42&#39;6 3/4) in the Triple Jump.

Jake Bathon soared 6&#39;3 and placed second among the High Jump entries.
