IHSA Bass Fishing sectional: Pinckneyville's going back to state

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[For the second straight year, Pinckneyville Community High School&#39;s Bass Fishing team is headed to state.

Last Friday at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Sectional at Coffeen Lake in Fayette County, the Fishing Panthers qualified its #1 boat of Blake Thornton, Ben Harris and Jake Bathon after a second place finish,

The trio landed keepers totalling 11.78 lbs..

Pinckneyville&#39;s #2 boat of Brad Baudison, Eric Tabing and Jeremiah Przygoda was ninth with 7.15 lbs.

Boat captians were coach Denny Heape and assistant Derek Jenkel.

Last year, Bathon and Ty Heape finished 19th in the first IHSA State Tourney with 3.25 lbs.

The state finals are May 8-9 on Carlyle Lake.
