SIJHSAA Boys Track: Youngman, Cook heading to state finals
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin (Middle School) will send athletes to the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Assoiciation (SIJHSAA) Class L State Boys Track finals follwoing regional competition Tuesday.
The Warriors scored 74 points and finished fourth among the eight teams entered at Chester. Pinckneyville (Junior High School) had 16 points and placed seventh.
Waterloo (106) was the meet's champion.
Spencer Cook (10'0) won the pole vault) and was second in the 400 meters (60.26) while also qualifying after a runner-up long jumo effort of 17'6.
Camden Youngman won the 100 meters (11.7), 200 (24.95) and shot put (41'7) to complete the list of state advancers.
The SIJHSAA state meet is Saturday, May 8 at Rend Lake College.
