Harold Eugene Stanley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Harold Eugene Stanley, 85, of Tamaroa, passed away at 4:24 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2010 at the St. Louis University Hospital at St. Louis, Mo.

Harold had worked as a sales manager for Illinois Wheel and Brake. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was involved in operations at Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Luzon, and ASW-Atlantic.

He was born Oct. 29, 1924 at Valier, Ill., the son of James and Estella M. (Wilson) Stanley.

He married Colleen Harris on Dec. 28, 1946 at Tamaroa, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, one daughter - Deborah K. Berry and husband Richard of Augusta, Mo., four grandchildren - Theodore "Chris" Berry, Nathan Berry, Shane Stanley and Shannon Stanley Gregory, one niece - Delores Emmerson of California, and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son - Dennis Eugene Stanley, two brothers - Cecil and Elmer and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Michael Ebersohl officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial was in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to the American Diabetes Association and were accepted at the funeral home.
