Visiting Zeigler-Royalton/Christopher scored all 17 of its runs over the last four innings and rolled to a 17-6 win over the Lady Falcons in Black Diamond Conference play. EHS (6-15, 1-4) is idle until next week.

"We played a great game for the first three innings," Lady Falcons coach Donette Wheatley said. "Then just simply lost all of our confidence in closing the game. We had four big errors and just couldn't finish." Courtney Morse led Elverado with three hits while Kelsey Tuthill knocked in two runs, as did Chelsea Cochran.

Sami Hicks also had a pair of safeties.

Kelsi Teague (5-10) took the pitching loss.

Prior to the game, former EHS standout and John A. Logan College performer Jenna Cochran became the newest member of Elverado's Athletic Wall of Fame.
