Coleman murders one year later

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[One year ago today Sheri Coleman, 31, and her sons Garrett, 11, and Gavin, 9, were found strangled to death in their Columbia home.

Today, former Chester resident Chris Coleman sits in the Monroe County Jail charged with the murders of his wife and sons.

The trial has been set for August of this year in Monroe County. Judge Milton Wharton of the 20th Judicial Circuit has ruled that an imported jury will sit in judgment of Coleman. The county from which the jurors will be selected has yet to be determined.

The Coleman home sits vacant in foreclosure. It will be auctioned on May 25 at the Monroe County Courthouse in Waterloo.

A memorial, two benches-one for each boy-and a tree for Sheri have been placed at a lake across from the home. A service to dedicate the memorial took place over the weekend.

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for tonight at 7:45 p.m. at the Centennial Pavilion at Bolm Schuhkraft Park in Columbia.
