Lady Warriors lose to Marissa

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ In high school softball action last week Steeleville lost to Marissa-Coulterville by a score of 14-2. The Meteors scored in every inning but the sixth and saved their best inning for last, putting the game out of reach with six runs in the seventh inning. Steeleville scored once in the first and added one more in the fourth.

Jessica Troue was the offensive leader with a double and a single, Alex Gale and Shelly Farris each hit a double and Brooke Woods added a single. Elise Quivey took the loss for the Lady Warriors. In seven innings she gave up 15 hits, walked two and struck out one.

Steeleville also suffered losses last week to New Athens by a score of 9-2 and Gibault by a score of 6-1.
