Now 28-1, Pinckneyville visits Marion Thursday at 4:30. The contest will be played at Marion High School.

"What a great win for our team," Lady Panthers coach Greg Hale said. "Very few teams beat Carterville on their home field. We had just outstanding pitching from Kelsey Cicardi and Emily Chapman. It was a great finish to win a great game."

In the eighth, Kortney Crawford tripled to start the rally and was stil at third after Mo Ramsey struck out. One out later, Miller's bunt sent Crawford flashing across the plate with the decisive run.

Carterville led 2-0 in the third before Pinckneyville tied things up.

Maddy Keith singled, and scored on Ramsey's two-out double.

An RBI groundout from Miller then tied the score.

Cicardi and Chapman combined to toss a three-hitter with Chapman working the final five innings.

Sara Malanowski and Crawford each had two hits with Taylor Cicardi and Dani Jenkel adding doubles.
