Rayburn A. Fricke, 70

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Rayburn A. Fricke, 70, of Red Bud, IL, died May 7, 2010 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, IL.

The son of Arthur and Leta (Rayburn) Fricke, he was born July 24, 1939 in Murphysboro, IL.

On April 2, 1966, he married Glenda L. Smith in Chicago, IL.

Rayburn was an Attorney and had been the Public Defender in Randolph County for eight years. He graduated in 1977 from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, IL. He also graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, where he played football on a football scholarship. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Red Bud, IL, Illinois Bar Association, Randolph County Bar Association, Red Bud Lion's Club, and had been an active member of the Muskets Athletic Club. He also coached Pee Wee Football for several years.

Survivors include his wife of Red Bud, IL; two children-Robert Fricke of Red Bud, and Chris (Will) Trowbridge of Columbia, IL; one sister, Dottie Hoffman of Columbia, IL; one brother, Robert D. Fricke of Belleville, IL; and one granddaughter, Grace Trowbridge of Columbia, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, IL, with Rev. Russell Koen officiating. Burial was in the Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL.

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Red Bud, IL, or the Muskets Athletic Club.
