Two youth cooking schools to be held this summer
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kids, ages 9 to 12, here's your chance to get in the kitchen and have some fun at Youth Cooking School sponsored by University of Illinois Extension. Nina Hille, U of I Food and Nutrition Community Worker, will teach boys and girls what they need to know about choosing and preparing healthy foods. They will get an opportunity to cook some great tasting meals and snacks, and they will learn about keeping food safe.
The five-day program will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The first cooking school will be held at the Prairie Du Rocher Elementary School from June 7-11 and the second program will be held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church at 360 East Broadway in Sparta from July 12-16.
Youth Cooking School is free, but pre-registration is required. Space is limited to the first 20 students who register. Students who need a special accommodation to participate should indicate their need when registering.
