Donald C. Helvey

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Donald C. Helvey, 74, of Cutler, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Donald was born May 6, 1936 in Freeburg, Ill. the son of Russell Helvey and Ardell (Wuest) Helvey.

Donald married Norma Lea Carrothers on May 19, 1957 in First Baptist Church, Cutler. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuter. He was a Navy veteran.

Donald is survived by his wife, Norma Lea Helvey of Cutler; children, Gilbert (Tammy) Helvey of Pinckneyville and Sherrill Deere of Chester; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Procasky of New Baden, Ill. and Janice (Danny) Bricher of Belleville; one brother, James (Kathy) Helvey of Chicago and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Cutler. Rev. Kevin Carrothers and Rev. Blu Berner will officiated. Burial followed at Cutler Cemetery.

Visitation was held at Wilson&#39;s Funeral Home, Steeleville, on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and at First Baptist Church, Cutler, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
