</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Miles of pipe arrived at the Tamaroa Community building last week for the start of the town's $1.9 million water expansion. There are three phases to the project.

Tapping directly into Rend Lake Water District. The direct tap-on will allow the village to purchase water at a much lower cost. The new line will run from Rend Lake's main at the Greenwood Creek subdivision up Davisville Road along Sassafrass Road north across country for about a quarter mile to Kimmel Road then across U.S. 51 to connect to the Tamaroa stand pipe.

Connecting an additional 37 rural residences that have never had water service. The work on those lines will be done southwest of Tamaroa, west of Rt. 51 and north of Rt. 154 on Grouse, Foxtail, Valier Carpet, Parakeet, Parrot and Pintail Roads.

Absorbing Consolidated Public Water District 204 (CPWD), gaining approximately 350 customers. In all, the project is expected to use 13,000 ft. of 10-inch pipe, 11,000 ft. of eight-inch pipe, 32,000 ft. of six-inch pipe, 45,000 ft. of four-inch pipe and 34,000 ft. of three-inch pipe. The number of water customers will go from 720 users to about 1,120 users.
