Musketeers fall to Freeburg

In the semifinals of the Red Bud Regional Tournament Freeburg's baseball team dominated the host squad and came up with a 9-2 win. Freeburg took control early when they scored two times in each of the first three innings. The Midgets also added one run in the fourth and two in the seventh while holding Red Bud to single runs in the fifth and sixth. The Midgets outhit the Musketeers 10-6 and also took advantage of some errors by Red Bud to advance to the regional championship game. Red Bud finished their season with a record of 15-12.
Josh Dietz was the offensive leader for Red Bud with two singles and an RBI. Tyler Magruder also had two hits and Caleb Ratz and Colin Wiegard added one single apiece.
Adam Kunkel was the losing pitcher. In 2 1/3 innings he allowed four hits, walked three and struck out five. Ratz worked 4 2/3 innings of relief and gave up five hits, walked one and struck out five.
