Dustin Risinger turned in a nice performance from the pitching mound, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out 11.
Top hitters for the Warriors were Andrew Pokrzywinski with two hits and an RBI, Kris Beshears with one hit and an RBI and Risinger and Nick Potter with one hit apiece.
In the semifinals Steeleville had the difficult task of facing Marissa-Coulterville, a team that has made it to the state championship game each of the last two years. The Meteors may be gearing up for another long run in the playoffs as they had little trouble with the Warriors in a 15-4 win.
Steeleville actually got on the scoreboard first with a run in the first inning, but Marissa roared back with five in the second, four in the third and six in the fourth. Steeleville's rally that produced three runs in the top of the fifth wasn't enough as the game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule. The Warriors, who finished the season with a record of 7-18, were outhit 13-3 in this contest.
