Chester Clean Up Days

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[CHESTER - Many Chester residents took advantage of the recent City Clean Up Days sponsored by the City of Chester in cooperation with Panther City Hauling. June 1-3 residents were able to discard unwanted items by placing them curbside for pick up by Chester Street Department staff. A total of three 30-yard large dumpsters and four smaller dumpsters were filled during the three-day clean up event. City staff utilized the backhoe, bobcat, dump trucks, and pickup trucks to load and haul the items to the dumpsters at the Street Department. The city staff separated many of the larger metal items for salvaging.

The Street Department staff expressed appreciation for the many residents who called in to notify them when items were placed curbside ready for pick up. The call-ins helped prevent repeated trips to one area or address and allowed the workers to plan the pick-up routes. This service is provided by the City of Chester and Panther City Hauling to Chester residents. The City of Chester appreciates the participation by residents to help clean up the community. The extra efforts by the Street Department staff and the recently hired city summer workers are appreciated.

Residents are reminded that bulk items will be accepted monthly by Panther City Hauling. On the last trash pick up day of each month, residents can place one bulk item curbside by the trash tote. These bulk items will be picked up by Panther City Hauling at the residence on the regular last trash day of the month. This service should help residents dispose regularly of unwanted bulk items.
