Chester Police Dept. reminders
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[CHESTER - Drivers: Now that school is out and the weather is warm, pedestrians and bicyclists will be out much more often. Please keep a close eye as you drive and remember that all pedestrians (joggers and walkers) and bicyclists have the right-of-way.
Remember that warmer weather also means motorcycling season. Please pay close attention to motorcyclists as you travel.
Nuisance Ordinance reminders:
Yard sale signs and other ads are prohibited from being posted on utility poles in the City of Chester.
Failure to maintain the grass and weeds on your property is a violation of City Ordinance. Please be sure to maintain your property to avoid a notice a violation.
Placing your waste, such as grass clippings or leaves in your trash tote is prohibited in the City of Chester. We suggest bagging yard waste and calling the maintenance department to arrange a pick up. Call 826-3712.
Open burning of yard waste, garbage, etc. is prohibited in the City of Chester.
All parks in the City of Chester close at 11 p.m. each evening.
While walking your dog, please be sure to clean up any excrement left behind by the animal and dispose of it in the appropriate receptacle.
A reminder that it is also a violation of city ordinance to fail to properly restrain your dog and/or have complete control of your dog at all time during walks.
