City of Chester implements One Call Now communication messaging service

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The City of Chester is now utilizing the One Call Now automated messaging service.

This message service is capable of contacting thousands of residents within minutes in the event of an emergency, or to notify citizens of upcoming events or other important information.

Residents may receive two different types of voice messages from the city.

Routine Notification calls which do not directly affect the safety of the community. These messages may include details/reminders about upcoming events, road closures, boil water orders, utility repairs, etc.

Emergency Notification calls used during critical events. These messages will include important information concerning weather related emergencies, search and rescue events, evacuations, etc.

Only authorized administrators from the city may activate the system. One Call Now keeps all of its clients' information confidential and secure. All data is password protected on secure servers accessible only by city administrators.

The city will be using phone numbers obtained from the white pages, both listed and non-published phone numbers as well as business listings. But with the use of cell phones today and unlisted phone numbers, the city needs your help. If you would like to receive these notifications, you will need to submit your contact information.

Also, residents can easily retrieve a missed message or replay a message that was cut off from an answering machine, answered by a child or received on a cell phone that dropped the call mid-message. Simply call 1-877-698-3261 or 866-321-4255 from any touch-tone phone that received the original message, then at the greeting press 1 to listen to the latest message from the City of Chester.
