Du Quoin Sonic Robbed
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin Police are investigating the armed robbery of Sonic Drive-In on Howelman Drive. The robbery occurred at 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29.
Two suspects wearing ski masks and hooded pullovers held an employee at gunpoint before getting away with over $1,400 in cash.
The race of the suspects is unknown.
Du Quoin Police Chief Mike Ward said the employee was shaken, but not harmed.
"There was an almost identical robbery at Sonic in West Frankfort two days ago, almost to the minute" Ward said. "The incidents were two days and one minute apart. We're looking at other robberies in the area for comparison."
Sonic is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
