Chief Coffey's monthly report for July
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The following report includes topics concerning the operations of the Chester Police Department throughout the month of June 2010. The report also includes programs and projects planned for the month of July 2010.
At the July 8, 2010, City Council Meeting, Chief Coffey provided the Council with an update on a request to the Illinois Department of Transportation regarding a reduced speed limit on Route 150 at Craig Manor.
Chief Coffey informed the Council that he is in the process of establishing additional policies within the Police Department.
Chief Coffey reported that he continues to work with IDOT on the tractor-trailer traffic issue in Chester. He informed the Council that a meeting with IDOT representatives has been scheduled for later this week.
Chief Coffey also reported on some other internal projects he is working on currently. One item pertains to some changes with regard to the Animal Control position, another was information regarding a new policy the Chief has planned to implement, and the other was a telecommunicator meeting that is planned for later this month. Some of the other topics included updates on some investigative dispositions, a conference Chief Coffey attended on school safety, and an update on city ordinance enforcement.
