Searby Named to Hospital Board
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Marshall Browning Hospital is pleased to welcome David Searby Jr. to the Marshall Browning Hospital Board of Directors. Mr. Searby will fill the term of the late Don Smith who served on the hospital board for nearly five years.
Mr. Searby is a graduate of Du Quoin High School, MacMurray College and SIU School of Law. He is an attorney with the Kurt Harris Law Firm of Du Quoin.
Aside from his law practice, Mr. Searby also serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Five Star Industries, Inc., the Board of Directors of the Illinois Search and Rescue Council, Vice President of MacMurray College Alumni Board, Operations Officer with Du Quoin Emergency Services and Disaster Agency, and Moderator of the Perry County Youth Court.
Searby joins other directors who volunteer their time on the hospital board including Dan Eaves, Susan Engelhardt, Dr. Craig Furry, Chuck Genesio, Richard Haines, Don Hoffman, Mark Maclin, Dr. David Marsden, Harold Rice and Kathy West.
Marshall Browning Hospital is a non-profit charitable organization. The hospital is a 25-bed acute care hospital with 24 hour physician-staffed ER, 22-unit independent living center, rehab center, and offers 12 specialty clinics. The hospital also has a new physician clinic including Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Family Practice.
The Hospital opened a new wing in 2008 which includes all private patient rooms, new surgical suite, pharmacy, inpatient rehab area and laboratory. Marshall Browning Hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval, the nation's predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
