Eva Rose Foster, 92
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Eva Rose Foster, 92, of Chester, IL, formerly of Sparta, IL, died July 18, 2010 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, IL.
The daughter of Major and Anna (Swallows) Flowers, she was born August 31, 1917 in Winkle, IL.
On December 21, 1932, she married Robert D. Foster in Pinckneyville, IL, and he preceded her in death in 1993.
Eva was a retired Nurses Aid and had worked at the Randolph County Nursing Home and Sparta Community Hospital, both in Sparta, IL. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sparta.
Survivors include two daughters-Thelma Vahlkamp of Belleville, IL, and Phyllis (Roland) Hammel of Chester, IL; four grandchildren-Connie (Keith) Warner of Belleville, IL, Rhonda (Steve) Lindsey of Davie, FL, Marvin (Judy) Hammel of Chester, IL, and Mitch (Kandy) Hammel of Chester, IL; 16 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Fred Vahlkamp; two grandsons-Stephen and Greg Vahlkamp; and 8 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL, with Rev. Walter Lockhart officiating. Burial was in the Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
