Steeleville School Board prepares for new year

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[At their meeting of July 1 the Steeleville District 138 Board of Education took action on several items in anticipation of the start of the new school year.

Cafeteria bids were reviewed and awarded to Chester Dairy for milk and Interstate Brands for bread.

It was decided that breakfast and lunch prices will remain the same this year.

Book rentals will also remain the same for this school year.

The Board approved volunteer softball coaches Julie Hathaway and Glenn Gerlach.

A motion was passed to approve the impress fund and petty cash fund with Cindy Ramsey named the treasurer of the impress fund.

Minutes of closed sessions were reviewed, with a motion passed to keep the minutes sealed.

Coming out of closed session at this meeting, the Board voted to deny a requested leave of absence to Christine Fifer. Fifer submitted a letter of resignation, which will be acted on at the next meeting as it was not on this meeting&#39;s agenda.

The Board approved the hiring of Bill Grafton as grade school boys basketball coach and Katrina Niemeyer as grade school volleyball coach.
