Alice (Biby) Lundblad
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Alice (Biby) Lundblad passed away at her home in Du Quoin on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Born on Dec. 6, 1931 in Royalton, Illinois to Guy and Audella (Eisenhauer) Biby, she was the youngest of four children.
The day following her High School graduation Alice was on a train to Chicago. She had several careers, retiring from Union Bank in Los Angeles, Calif. in 1988 and returning to Southern Illinois. She lived in Mulkeytown and following an illness, began volunteering with the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary. A few years ago she moved to an apartment in Du Quoin, continuing her volunteer work until health issues made it impossible to continue.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and their spouses: Laura Jean (Biby) and Alvin "Ski" Bartels of the Chicago area, James and Norma Jean (Hertel) Biby of Mulkeytown and infant brother Harold Ray Biby.
She is survived by nieces: Pat Bartels and Sue Bartels of Poplar Grove, Ill., nephews and their spouses: Alan and Audrey Biby, David and Paula Biby, all of Mulkeytown, and Brian and Kathy Biby of Portage, Indiana; great niece Michelle Ahlfeld of Portage and great nephews: William Biby of Chicago and Daniel Biby of Portage. Alice had one great-great nephew, Aidan Lineberry and anticipated another within days of her death.
Graveside service were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Miner's Cemetery in Royalton with Rev. Charles E. Issler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.
Gilbert Funeral Home of Christopher was in charge of the arrangements.
