Wilbert ‘Wib' John Magers, 84
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wilbert "Wib" John Magers of West Grove, dies at the age of 84 on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, after a seven-year battle with multiple myeloma.
He was preceded in death by son, Steve; and brother, Alfonse.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy; daughter, Emilie (husband Bill, children Ali and Ben); son, Chris (daughter Hanah, wife Sandy and step sons Bill and Stephen); and sister Patsy (Norma). He is also survived by many loving and loyal friends.
Wib was born in Chester, IL on April 24, 1926.
He and Dorothy moved to Pennsylvania shortly after getting married in 1948 he began his career at Sun Oil Co. Toward the end of his career he served as president of Sun Refining and Marketing and retired in 1983 as senior vice president of Sun Oil Co.
After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, jewelry making and quilt design.
He was best known for his endless energy and unending desire to learn,
Wib lived his life to the fullest, making friends everywhere he went.
He greatly enjoyed the outdoors - hunting and fishing, traveling with good friends and spending time with his family.
A memorial service was held at 11: 00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, at the Mendenhall Inn, 323 Kennett Pike, Mendenhall.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.
