Lady Panthers third at A-J Invitational
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Senior Kelsey Cicardi and sophomore Heather McDaniel each shot an individual round of 43 to lead Pinckneyville to a third place finish in yesterday's ten-team Anna-Jonesboro Invitational golf tournament.
Olivia Mathis and Brooke Heisner each shot 53 to give the Lady Panthers a team total of 193, which tied PCHS for second, but the tie-breaker was won by Carmi.
Massac County claimed the tournament crown with a score of 185.
"I do believe we have our best golf ahead of us," said Panthers' coach Dennis Kania. "We've had difficulty putting together four good scorew, but I see the team gaining confidence in themselves and I think we can pull off some surprises between now and through the regional and sectional."
"All of our girls have contributed, but being more consistent is what we are striving for."
Cicardi and McDaniel finished tied for 4th in individual scoring, Massac's Sami Weber claimed the medal.
