BASEBALL: St. Bruno's-Tamaroa tops PJHS
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Pinckneyville Junior High School's baseball squad fell 16-10 to St. Bruno's-Tamaroa on Wednesday at home, dropping their record for 2010 to 3-10.
St. Bruno's-Tamaroa was led by Nolan Luke's 4-for-5 effort, which included a triple, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Adam Banach pitched in going 2-for-4 (2B, 3 RBI, 2 R), Brock Bullar was 2-2 (2 RBI, 2 R), Cole Bigham 2-4 (RBI, 3 R) Robbie Borchelt 2-4 (2B, 2 R), Nolan Bruns 1-3 (RBI) and Jackson Brand 1-4 (RBI, R). Tyler Rulevish picked up the victory on the hill.
Caulden Lazenby led PJHS with a 2-for-4 effort at the plate, Trent Hicks and Alec Brand also had key hits for the Junior Panthers.
Earlier in the week on Wednesday afternoon, PJHS lost 16-6 to Benton in Pinckneyville.
Trent Hicks and Jacob Louis were each 2-for-4 in the losing effort of that game.
PJHS takes the field Monday afternoon for a road game in Du Quoin at 4:00, then it's off to Trico on Tuesday for a 4:15 game with the Junior Pioneers.
Regional play begins September 23.
