Wanda L. Scruggs

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wanda L. Scruggs, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:35 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at the Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

Wanda was a homemaker. She had worked at Erwin&#39;s Florist and Freidman&#39;s Fashion Shop. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin, Euzelian Sunday School Class and Du Quoin Study Club.

She was born July 19, 1924 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the daughter of Emmet and Clara (Huth) Heisner.

She married Adolph W. "Acer" Scruggs on Aug. 14, 1943 at Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2002.

She is survived by one son Gary Scruggs and wife Elaine of Du Quoin, one sister - LaDonna Peradotto and husband Richard of Pinckneyville, four nephews - Stephen Bruns and wife Amy of Nashville, Ill., Michael Bruns and wife Gina of Tamaroa, Anthony Bruns and wife Connie of Pinckneyville, and Jason Peradotto of Pinckneyville, one great nephew - Josh Bruns of Nashville, Ill. and one great niece - Jillian Bruns of Nashville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends called from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
