Steeleville volleyball squad wins one

Steeleville's volleyball squad picked up one win in three attempts last week. Their first match was a 25-16, 25-15 loss to Sparta. Brooke Rees led in kills with eight and Brooke Cates had five kills. Cates was also the leading server with four points and Natalie Ruebke and Brooke Woods each had four assists.
In their next match Steeleville topped Dupo by scores of 25-18, 25-10. Cates was the leading server with 10 points while Woods and Alex Gale added eight points apiece. Gale connected on five kills and also led in digs with five.
Thursday's action saw Steeleville lose to Lebanon by scores of 25-23, 25-16. The Lady Warriors stayed within a point or two of Lebanon for much of game one but just couldn't gain control. Game two was close for the first few points until Lebanon went on an 8-0 run to open a big lead.
Rees led in kills with six while Ruebke was tops in both assists and digs. Gale served for seven points and Ruebke added five.
