BASEBALL: Junior Panthers claim Regional title
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ With a 5-2 victory over Trico on Monday afternoon, Pinckneyville Junior High School advanced into Saturday's state tournament behind a dominant pitching effort by Trent Hicks.
Hicks fanned 13 in pitching the complete game victory for the Junior Panthers, who will battle North Clay Junior High on Saturday at Rigdon Field in Pinckneyville with the first pitch at 1:30 p.m.
Hicks, Jacob Louis, Miles Chandler, Caulden Lazenby and Justin Bauersachs all had hits in the game for PJHS.
Hicks also picked up the victory in last Friday's 6-4 PJHS win over Chester to get the Junior Panthers into yesterday's Regional championship contest.
