TRACK: P'ville #204 posts wins at Rend Lake

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Sophie Keith (Pinckneyville Dist. #204) took first place at this past Saturday&#39;s Rend Lake College Warrior Classic pre-state meet in the Girls&#39; 1.8 mile run, outpacing second place by over 25 seconds en route to victory in a time of 12:37. Caleb Logan made it two wins by the Tigers, claiming the boys&#39; junior varsity 1.8 mi. run at 13:00, nine seconds faster than Kylan Rottinghuas of St. Andrew.

Taylor Lindsay was the second-best 204 Tiger finisher in the girls&#39; race, coming in 29th with a time of 15:23. Caitie Opp was 50th at 18:19.

For the boys, Kyle Kreger (7 - 14:01), Garrett Johnson (8 - 14:03), T.J Bourque (12 - 14:32), Luke Zelasko (30 - 16:34), and Jake Thompson (32 - 16:56) also took part in the j-v competition. Brandon Zelasko was the highest varsity finisher, coming in 51st position with a time of 14:20. Sam Simpson was 81st (19:45).

In j-v girls action at RLC for the Tigers, Shania Opp was third (14:46), Lydia Pestka ninth (17:01), Katelyn Hoch fifteenth (19:37) and Autumn Mohr twenty-first (22:52).

Last Tuesday, nine Tigers medalled at the Chester meet, with Keith taking the 1.8 distance victory with her time of 11:48, Taylor came in sixth (13:35) and C. Opp eleventh (14:47) rounding out the 204 varsity girls&#39; numbers.

The junior-varsity boys finished first as a team at the meet, with Logan taking second place individually (8:41), followed by Kreger (4 - 9:08), Bourque (6 - 9:28), Johnson (7 - 9:31), Zelasko (9 - 9:41) and Thompson (12 - 10:16).

The J-V girls tied for second as a team including times from Cheek (2 - 9:06), Opp (4 - 9:21), Pestka (9 - 10:20), Hoch (19 - 11:52), and Mohr (22 - 12:38).

Simpson placed eleventh at Chester for the varsity boys with a time of 16:41.

At the October 4th cross country meet at Ashley, Keith took first in the varsity girls&#39; competition with a time of 8:48, Taylor was seventh (9:52).

Savannah Cheek (9:27) and S. Opp (9:38) finished second and third in junior varsity girls, with Logan (4 - 9:06), Kreger (5 - 9:33), Bourque (9 - 9:34) and Johnson (10 - 9:45) placing top-ten for 204 in J-V boys.
