VOLLEYBALL: Pinckneyville edges Carterville

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Pinckneyville improved to 5-4 in the S.I.R.R. Mississippi Division on Thursday night, taking two-of-three games from Carterville for a 25-15, 22-25, 25-23 victory in Thomas Gymnasium at PCHS.

The Lady Panthers (11-13 overall) were led again by senior Maddy Keith at the net with her 14 kills, Taylor Cicardi added 10. Keith also had a team-best 9 digs on the night.

Sara Malanowski finished with 16 assists for PCHS.

Up next for Pinckneyville is a trip to Steeleville on Monday, followed by senior night against Sparta on Tuesday at PCHS.

Regional pairings were recently made available by the IHSA and the Lady Panthers (seeded third) will be taking on Sparta (seeded second) for the third time in seventeen days.

The contest will take place Thursday, October 28 at approximately 7:00 p.m. at Sparta High School, shortly after the conclusion of the 6:00 p.m. game.

The winner of that match will likely have a handful in Saturday, October 30&#39;s final, where they will meet the winner of the Red Bud (#4) and Nashville (#1) semifinal at 7:00 p.m.
