</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Megan Bagley scored 12 points and Sophie Keith added 10 to lead Pinckneyville District #204 to their eight consecutive victory to start the 2010 season yesterday afternoon, a 43-28 win over Tamaroa-St. Bruno at the Dist. #204 girls basketball tournament.

The teams were knotted at 6-6 after one quarter, but a 16-6 second quarter by the Tigers became too much for the TSB Lady Indians.

Torrie Carter finished with 8 points, Taylor Smith 6 for #204.

The Tigers (8-0) claimed the small schools division championship with their third win in as many days and advanced into Thursday evening's overall championship against Du Quoin at around 7:45 p.m., or following the matchup between second place teams.

Steeleville and Pinckneyville Junior High Schoool (Dist. #50) meet in that contest at 6:30 p.m. while Tamaroa-St. Bruno will face Chester at 5:15 p.m.

The DuQuoin Middle School Girls Basketball team won the large school division of the #204 Tournament on Wednesday evening. DMS beat Sparta 35-20. DuQuoin's record now is 5-1 overall.

Coach Debbie Ritter thought her team "played good ball and all the girls on the team had an opportunity to play. Even with some foul trouble, the girls stepped up and played a good game."

The game started out slow with DuQuoin winning at the end of the first quarter 6-3. At half-time, the score was 16-10.

DMS plays on Thursday at 7:45 for the all-tournament championship against undefeated Pinckneyville Dist.#204.

Scoring for DuQuoin were: Jacqueline Harsy 13 points, Amanda Atteberry 9, Marisa Ferguson 4, Andrea Morgan 3, and Carissa Graham, Jessica Harsy, and Shelby Simmons each with 2.
