Du Quoin Home Damaged in Saturday Morning Fire

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[A house at 218 East North Street owned by Falon Cole received fire damage to the bedroom and smoke damage throughout during a 3:04 a.m. fire Saturday morning.

Firemen recommend that when the time changes from daylight savings time to standard time that you change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

There were no batteries in their smoke detectors, but one of the occupants was awakened by the smoke. All got out safely.

Du Quoin was assisted by Tamaroa firemen at the scene and Dowell firemen at the station. The origin of the fire was electrical.
