GOLF: PCHS honors golfers for 2010 season
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Community High School held its 2010 Golf Awards Banquet on Monday, November 8 at the Red Hawk Country Club, handing out hardware to four individuals for their outstanding achievements this season.
Teammates voted junior Adam Valentine the Most Valuable Boys' Golfer and sophomore Heather McDaniel the Most Valuable Girls' Golfer, while Most-Improved honors went to sophomore Will Travis and junior Brooke Heisner.
Also receiving awards for participation were Panthers Kyle Brocaille (Fr.), Drew Lipe (Fr.), Patrick Kovic (So.), and Michael Siefert (Jr.), along with Lady Panthers Alexis Anderson (So.), Olivia Mathis (So.), Claire Wittenauer (Jr.), Kelsey Cicardi (Sr.) and Meredith (Mo) Ramsey (Sr.).
PCHS head golf coach Dennis Kania also announced his retirement at the awards banquet. Pinckneyville's girls team won the school's first ever golf Regional Championship under Kania in 2010. Kania's assistants were Jim Gibson, Vicky Weatherford and Brittany Kellerman.
