Coach Shawn File wanted to commend Curry Emling for a very good job taking the ball to the basket. He felt she was a big part of the DuQuoin lead in the first half. "A-J outscored us from the foul line making 24 points of 33 at the line. We were 6 points of 15 at the line. Jessica Hirsch had four-three pointers, and 13 of her points came in the fourth quarter. Rebekah Maddox had a much better second half tonight. I thought our effort tonight was very good. We will see A-J again at home."
The Junior Varsity Team, coached by Jason James, also was defeated by A-J. The final score was 57-46. DuQuoin was down by 16 points at the half and managed to comeback during the third quarter to be behind by only one. DuQuoin went on a 25-10 run in the third. In the fourth quarter, DuQuoin simply "ran out of steam" as Anna-Jonesboro managed to pull away winning 57-46.
