Chief Coffey gives report to council
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Chief Coffey reported on the following topics at the January 3, 2011 City Council Meeting.
Chief Coffey reported that he had received the copier that was generously donated to the Department by Joe Kappeis. It appears that the copier will meet all of the Department's needs as a combination of copier, fax machine, and printer for the Telecommunications office.
Chief Coffey reported on the progress of the $100,000 Grant program and some training that will be hosted by the Southwestern Illinois Law Enforcement Commission in Chester.
Other topics included the status of projects with the Illinois Department of Transportation regarding speed limit studies, a status report on the Armed Robbery investigation, and updates on city ordinance enforcement.
Chief Coffey anticipated having a plan for an open house program at the Police Department for next month's meeting. The Open House will be centered around demonstrations of the newly acquired equipment resulting from the Grant.
