Tara Johnson has been named Memorial Hospital's newest Employee of the Quarter. The announcement was made at a reception in Johnson's honor on Thursday afternoon, January 13. Johnson began her association with Memorial Hospital as a student in the hospital's Business Office in 2000. She later worked as a student worker in the Human Resources Department, subsequently accepting a position as insurance biller, again in the hospital's Business Office. Johnson then enrolled in the radiology program at SWIC, becoming a Diagnostic Imaging Tech and she then secured a position in Memorial's Diagnostic Imaging Department. Since that time, Johnson has furthered her education by becoming an ultrasound tech and echo tech.

In his presentation on January 13, Administrator Steve Hayes quoted nomination forms which were submitted on Johnson's behalf by peers, stating, "Tara is very kind to her patients; she is soft spoken and caring. She is a very positive employee. She is always ready and willing to do extra work. She is a major team player!"

Tara and her husband, Bill, reside in Chester with their two sons, Cody, age 6 and Jack, age 5 months. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, following Cardinal baseball and playing with her kids. She is a member of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

In addition to a cash gift, Johnson will receive a personal plaque and the parking space of her choice for the next three months. Her name has also been added to a larger plaque in the hospital's front lobby.
